Description

This book is about Jesus Christ – who he is, and what he came to do. John, one of the twelve disciples, was the best of friends with Jesus and knew him as well
as anyone.
He was in a unique position, being an eyewitness, to tell us about him as a person and all he accomplished.
In this book, we follow John a verse at a time, to ensure we stay close to his record and get an accurate view of what the Bible actually says.
Each topic covered is directed by the text, as John introduces us to one essential truth after another to provide a map sufficiently detailed for us to set off and continue on our journey.
A journey which ‘leads to life’.

‘Whenever Mick Lockwood talks about Jesus I definitely want to listen. What you have here is a wonderful guide to Jesus Christ, exactly true to the facts – exciting, challenging and even shocking at times, and most definitely lifechanging, if you take the challenge. Packed with stories to make you think (and sometimes laugh!), and, above all, full of the Bible’s teaching, John on Jesus and Eternal Life is the perfect introduction to who Jesus is, what he came to do, and what he means for everyone. Highly recommended.’
Dr Lewis Allen, Senior Pastor, Hope Church, Huddersfield

‘Now here is a book worth reading. Whether you have an active faith or not, this is important. With a keen eye for the truth, and a brilliant touch of
storytelling, Mick Lockwood talks like a real person, explaining something both rare and essential for anyone living and thinking in our modern world
today. He writes well, and so he should – he is showing us nothing less than the genuine promise of eternal life … and how to get it. I told you it was
important!’
Norman Stone, Film Director

‘My friend Mick Lockwood is a Yorkshire man who is easy to talk to and easy to listen to. Even if you believe nothing at all, it is a sheer pleasure to sit with an open Bible and to hear him explain what it says and what it means;
not everyone can have this pleasure. His brief book about the beginning of John’s Gospel is the next best thing.’
Stuart Olyott, Author and Retired Pastor

Mick, now retired, was the pastor of Thornhill Baptist Church, near
Dewsbury, and Hall Green Baptist Church, Haworth, both in West
Yorkshire, over a period of forty years. He is married to Gill and
they have three married daughters and six grandchildren.
