Description
Apply yourself wholly to the text; apply the text wholly to yourself.’
Although written over two hundred and fifty years ago, the advice is timeless.
Geoff Treasure seeks to discover the relevance of Paul’s words, originally written to a small community of first-century believers in a distant, Roman province – to twenty-first-century Christians.
Their multiple worlds of family, church, work, friends and wider social contacts differ greatly; the challenge, however, remains the same.
How does God’s written Word become transformed into the living Word of Christian experience.
Paul’s words come with the daily challenge to live the life and to walk the talk.

COMMENDATION
'I’ve read many studies on Paul’s letter to the Philippians but Geoff Treasure’s examination is by far the most complete and intense. It encompasses theology, pastoral insights, personal examples (often
intimate and moving) and a healthy sprinkling of self-deprecating humour. The author has a compelling awareness of how Paul’s letter can rightly be applied to today’s church context and poses discerning,
searching questions for further discussion. For a knowledgeable,
applicable, invigorating, readable study of this letter it would be very difficult to beat!'
Rev’d Dr Bob Hunt, formerly Vice Principal, All Nations Christian College, Ware, Herts)
'This is a fine work, blending energetic biblical analysis with examples drawn from a rich life lived before God. A perfect book for the preacher and Bible study group leader and accessible for all. Geoff's warm and witty style is readable, memorable and engaging throughout.'
Rev’d Dr Nick Griffiths, former Bible College Lecturer and currently Vicar of St George, Wilton
